Welcome to the very first feature in our brand-new Creator Spotlight series here at New Forest Clothing. In this series we’re shining a light on the talented content creators we work with during our photoshoots with Country Content - giving you a glimpse into who they are, their passions, and what it’s really like on a shoot day.

To kick things off, we’re excited to introduce Martyn Hibbert of WhiteRoseShooting. At 35, Martyn juggles life as a full-time electrician in South Yorkshire with his love of the outdoors and country pursuits.

When he’s not working or shooting campaigns with us, you’ll often find him travelling around the UK, competing in clay shooting competitions, or out on long walks with his partner and their two cocker spaniels. In this Q&A, Martyn shares more about his his favourite countryside activities, and some of the fun behind-the-scenes moments from our Country Content days.

Q. What does a typical day in your life look like?

A. A typical week day for me will look the same Mon-Fri working as a full time electrician and running the business alongside. I sometimes manage to squeeze in a midweek clay shooting competition if I get the chance. However, my weekends are usually a lot more free and consist of me competing in clay shooting competitions at least once over the weekend, and enjoying long walks with my partner and our two cocker spaniels, Ruby and Margot.

Q. What draws you to the country lifestyle?

A. I've always enjoyed being outdoors from a young age, whether it's hiking, camping or just relaxing in the garden. I've only recently in the last 2-3 years taken up shooting which has made me be outdoors in the country more often. Shooting, whether it's on the clays, pigeons or game days is ultimately what drew me into the country lifestyle and I was hooked ever since. We are blessed in the UK to have the countryside that we have and I'm one of the lucky ones that gets to enjoy it.

Q. What’s your favourite countryside activity?

A. Shooting is by far my favourite countryside activity, more specifically clay shooting however I do participate in game shooting from time to time. For me there's nothing better than enjoying the countryside and being able to compete at the same time.

Q. Are there any “must-have” pieces you always wear on a day-to-day?  What’s one piece of clothing you couldn’t live without?

I would say a good set of durable boots is a must have, whether it's just for day to day or long hikes, good, suitable footwear is a must! One piece of clothing I couldn't live without is definitely one of my New Forest coats. The weather in the UK countryside can change fast and you need to be prepared for all outcomes.

Q. How did you first come to work with Country Content?

A. I first found out about Country Content through an instagram post that was shared and they were looking for applicants for a photoshoot. I applied and ended up being selected and invited on one of their content days. I've since worked alongside them and some amazing brands on their photoshoots since then and really enjoy the days with Country Content.

Q. What has been your favourite part of the shoot day experience with Country Content?

A. I would say it's having a laugh behind the camera! I post quite a few things from behind the scenes of these days on my instagram and nothing is ever too serious, it's just a relaxing, fun day with like minded people. Chloe and her team are always very welcoming!

Q. What’s been your funniest or most unexpected moment on a shoot day?

A. Honestly, there's been a few! Hahaha! From tripping up on video to trying to create the 'perfect shot' for people by using a leaf blower, only to end up with them being hit in the face with a load of leaves! My most unexpected moment was definitely on a recent photoshoot where I was in a field full of cows feeding them. I expected it to be quite chaotic but they weren't really bothered by me and were just curious and friendly.

Q. Which New Forest Clothing pieces have been your favourites to style or shoot?

A. I would definitely say the tweeds! From the suits to the shooting jackets and other clothing they're all great quality, comfy to wear and do the job they're supposed to! There's something timeless about tweed as well that will always draw me to it.

Q. And which New Forest Clothing piece has been your favourite all round?

A. I would have to say it's the heated gilet! An absolute game changer when you're out in the field during the colder months. This paired with the New Forest Maverick tweed jacket is an awesome combo for me!

Quick Fire

Tea or Coffee to fuel the day - Tea, all day! Got to be Yorkshire tea though.

Countryside Companion? Dogs or Horses - Easy, dogs!

Summer Sunsets or Frosty Mornings - Frosty mornings.

Muddy wellies or polished leather boots? - Muddy Wellies, sign of a good time!
