For this instalment of our Meet the Creators series, we’re catching up with Lauren Jee. A natural in the countryside, whose life blends animals, outdoor living, and a quietly hands-on approach to everything she does. Based in Oxfordshire, Lauren’s days are shaped by the rhythms of rural life. Dogs, fresh air, and making the most of time outside whenever she can.
Whether it’s time spent out in the field, training, or simply enjoying the slower pace that rural life offers, there’s an ease and authenticity to the way Lauren approaches it all. Alongside her partner Ashley, she’s part of a world where dogs and countryside living go hand in hand. Though very much carving out her own space within it.
Her days are a mix of routine and variety. Time outdoors, working with dogs, and embracing the social side of country life. From shoot days to quieter moments at home, it’s a lifestyle that feels both grounded and genuinely lived in. Working with Country Content fits naturally into that rhythm. Real people, real environments, and stories that don’t need dressing up.
Q. Could you tell us a little about yourself, what you do, and where you’re based?
A. Hello! I’m Lauren, I work full-time in property managing a lettings branch during the day and in the evenings/weekends I’m fully immersed in the country way of life. My partner Ash is a farmer so I truly get to experience the best of both worlds as we’re based in the Oxfordshire countryside on a farm - which is wonderful.
Q. What does a typical day in your life look like? From first brew to last light.
A. Generally an early morning wake up either via the alarm or birdsong (the latter is preferred!), tea first. Always. A quick dander with the dogs, shower and get ready for work and head off for the day. After arriving home we tend to the dogs, figure out who’s scheduled for training that day, crack on with the training, give them their dinner and head inside to have ours. The last part of the evening consists of a series in front of the TV on the sofa with a dog, usually Dexter, curled up beside me.
Q. What draws you to the country lifestyle? What is it about rural life that keeps pulling you back outdoors?
A. The freedom of the outdoors and fresh air is unmatched. The friends made along the way are very special too. The fun that can be had as well as the sense of achievement with both clay shooting and training dogs is where I’m happiest.
Q. What’s your favourite countryside activity? If you had a free afternoon, how would you spend it?
A. Shooting and spending time with the dogs. Dexter is our first cocker spaniel and he brings me so much joy, especially when he is focused and nails a new command. It’s an unrivalled feeling.
Q. What’s one countryside ritual you couldn’t imagine giving up? Morning walks, feeding animals, lighting the stove…
A. Collecting the eggs from our own chickens - I didn’t realise how wholesome that would be! It’s a bonus that they taste delicious too.
Q. What does a good day outdoors give you that nothing else can?
A. A sense of achievement, gratitude for the ability to do so and usually a good nights sleep!
Q. How did you first come to work with Country Content?
How did you first cross paths with Country Content, and what made it click?
A. Via my lovely other half, Mr Gallagher. He’d been working with Chloe for a while on previous brand campaigns and encouraged me to come along. Chloe’s direction and talent (exampled by her amazing photographs and the videography) are second to none.
Q. What has been your favourite part of the photoshoot day experience with Country Content? What’s been your standout moment on a shoot day with Country Content so far?
A. It’s got to be the latest campaign involving the dogs and the new training dummies. Being able to work your dogs in such a natural environment was a spectacular moment. The standout moment was my young dog, who was only on his second Country Content shoot, behaving impeccably. It was one of the proudest moments to date as a dog mum.
Q. What’s been your funniest or most unexpected moment on a photoshoot day?
A. A standout moment was the A/W shoot at Bisbrooke Hall, we were needing to recreate an autumnal scene which involved Martyn, some leaves, a leaf blower and many failed attempts (and giggles) at ‘the shot’. Enough said 😂
Q. Which New Forest Clothing pieces have been your favourites to wear on a photoshoot day, and why did they work so well?
A. The dog training vest. Being able to photograph this whilst in use and being used for exactly what it was designed for was special and such an honour.
Q. And which New Forest Clothing piece has been your favourite all round?
A. The Robyn coat. She’s had many a use in the field, it’s so warm and comfortable. She also came with me on a trip to Florida when the weather was chilly!
Q. Out of your wardrobe, are there any “must-have” pieces you always wear on a day-to-day? What would you reach for first if you had to pack light?
A. A 1/4 zip or a gilet (I’m constantly wearing one or the other) and my Ralph Lauren mom jeans!
Quick Fire – No Overthinking!
Q. Tea or Coffee to fuel the day?
A. Tea
Q. Countryside Companion? Dogs or Horses?
A. Dogs.
Q. Summer Sunsets or Frosty Mornings?
A. Summer sunsets.
Q. Muddy wellies or polished leather boots?
A. Muddy wellies.
Q. Planned route or follow the trail?
A. Planned route.
Q. Solo wander or shared adventure?
A. Shared adventure.
Q. What’s next? What projects, places, or plans are on your horizon this year?
A. A trip to Nashville is on the horizon for next year, and we’re working hard at home in the off season to make sure the dogs don’t embarrass us on the days in the field for the upcoming season!
Q. Follow the journey Where can people find you online and keep up with your work?
Q. And Finally, What advice would you give to someone craving a more outdoors led life?
A. Take the plunge, everyone I’ve come across within this community is so welcoming and friendly. You’ll meet some really great people who you may be lucky enough to call your closest friends.
Lauren's Gallery

Lauren’s take on countryside living is refreshingly simple. Be outside, stay active, and enjoy the moments that come with it. Whether that’s time spent with dogs, days in the field, or catching up with friends after a long stretch outdoors, it’s all about balance and making it count.
Her style reflects that same mindset. Practical, comfortable, and easy to wear. The kind of pieces that move with you through the day without overthinking it. New Forest Clothing slots effortlessly into that approach. Built for the outdoors, but with a feel that works just as well beyond it.
