Just like the original, it’s totally waterproof, reassuringly durable and completely windproof.
This latest version, however, offers a huge step forward in terms of “breathability”—or, as the fabric boffins like to call it: Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate.
So, however hard you’re working, you won’t get that uncomfortable, clammy, sweaty feeling on the inside of thesmock. Which is obviously great news for all the proper grafters (AKA Ridgeline customers) out there.
The 3-layer construction features a brushed polyester outer with a C0 durable water-repellent finish for protection, tear resistance and durability in combination with a warm, soft hand-feel.
The rugged, half-length front zip features chunky zip-pullers for ease of use with gloves or mitts. A deep, popper-fastened storm flap keeps wind and rain where it belongs—on the outside.
Hip Zips in the side seams provide the option of increased mobility—perfect for riding or driving a quad bike.
The large, flap-protected chest pocket offers plenty of storage space for work or outdoor essentials. Two zipped lower pockets provide extra capacity—and a place to warm up your hands on cold mornings.
A deep, wired hood features three adjustment points and provides a close-fitting haven in harsh, windy conditions. When not is use, it simply rolls away into the collar.
A tough, adjustable drawcord at the waist fine-tunes the fit and seals in the warmth.
The cuffs are wide enough to allow the sleeves to be rolled up in warmer conditions and feature Velcro-adjustments to cinch them tight to your wrists in the very worst weather.

Great quality smock jacket
Great quality smock jacket. I usually wear size 12 top & 12-14 bottoms so went for the 14 jacket which fits great and has plenty of room for warm layers. As a tall lady (5’11) I was pleased that this jacket is good length for me and also that the hood is roomy enough to fit over my head without being tight (I have a long neck)! Love the colour. Can’t wait to wear it beating.

When size and colour leave you indecisive
I ordered 3 smocks from NFC, 2 sizes and 2 colours. The smaller size fit with room to spare for thicker winter layers, and I preferred the Deep Forest colour over the Bark on me. The dark green is a lovely shade, coordinates well with my other clothing, and I love it, I also loved the sale price
