The New Forest Canadian Sherpa Shirt is a decent option for those looking for a warm and affordable outer layer. At £34, the price is fair for what you get, and the fleece lining does a good job of keeping you warm in cooler weather.
However, there are some notable drawbacks. The popper fastenings are not particularly secure and tend to come undone with even slight movement, which can be frustrating. A zip or proper buttons would make a big improvement in terms of practicality and security. The hood is also poorly designed—it doesn’t fit well and cannot be tightened around the face, making it ineffective in windy conditions. Additionally, there’s no tie or fastening around the neck, meaning there’s little protection from the cold.
Overall, while the warmth and affordability are positives, the design flaws make it less practical for outdoor use in harsher conditions. If you’re looking for something snug and secure, you may want to consider other options.
