I really like this jacket overall. The color is beautiful, and the quality and style are exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find a light brown leather label on the left pocket that is not shown or mentioned anywhere in the product description.

In fact, there is a photo showing the left pocket quite clearly, but the label is not present in that image. Since the jacket is otherwise a beautiful, dark, understated color, the light brown label stands out quite a lot and, in my opinion, slightly ruins the overall look.

I would still give the jacket 4 out of 5 stars, because I genuinely like the jacket and its color very much. However, I think customers should be made aware of the label, especially since it is quite noticeable and isn't visible in the product images.

The jacket is on the small side

This is a very good waxed cotton jacket, ideal for light wear and dog walks. It is not a shooting jacket. I like the sleeve 'sock' and the cut, however I think the large could be an tad larger. It is neat, bearing in mind the padding in this jacket is non existent and a good sweater of body warmer might be necessary for cold outings. Going up a size to XL will swamp you. The inner pocket needs to be lower down and larger to accommodate a cap or the ghastly hood..
The bellows pockets are just about adequate for gloves and the hand warmers are not deep enough. Hands in pockets your elbows stick out like wings.
This jacket comes with a stud clip on hood which is simply terrible. It has a gnome like quality when on and really doesn't do anything to keep the wind or rain off your face. It's an afterthought and NF should ditch it. They already sell a perfectly respectable waxed flat cap.
All in all this jacket will serve the dog walker and light country user quite well as a budget alternative at a substantially reduced cost to the more well known brands of waxed jacket at premium prices. You pays your money and you takes your choice.
I bought this at a discount. It's fine. Do I love it? No. Will I wear it. Yes.
But with some small tweaks and a little more thought it could be so much better.
Please, please lose that hood. It's an embarrassment.

Beautiful jacket, great quality! I sized up and I’m glad I did, usually a medium but got a large and the fit is perfect.
I was so happy with how fast it was delivered. This was my first purchase from New forest I’ll definitely be back.

Fits well, smaller internal pocket then previous versions, less lining material then before., so might not be as warm - have to wait till winter!

Good value for money.

The quality is great. The only drawback is the hood, wich is just one seem, so if you put it on you look like a dwarf, and the stip on it hat plastic caps. But because of this its easy to fold and keep in the pocket, and during a stronger rain, you will not care about the looks. So go for it. Used it on a hunt in the rain, 5 hours of thorns, and rain. I was dry and the jacket didn´t care about the blackberry thicket

Item run a little small , but acceptable size

Great light jacket, looks great and decently made. I usually wear L but ordered a XL for a more relaxed fit and it was the right call. It’s a fall jacket for Canadian weather but holds warmth well when worn with a fleece or wool base layer.

I did push it to the limit. Out all day in the rain.
Defo not fully waterproof.

The jacket was made with great quality, stylish, colour is very nice. Unfortunately the jacket was too small, so had to send back, the refund was promptly paid.

Decent wax jacket, the material is a good weight between heavy and light. The poppers do seem a little flimsy, we'll see how long they last but this is my only concern.

It's advertised as running a little small so went with the recommendation of ordering a size up but actually returned it and got my usual size which is fitted. The returns process was very easy so not a big deal.
